This is a beautiful yet simple painting of a vase of flowers inspired by a delightful bunch of flowers my daughter bought me. The artwork is not a true representation of the flowers but rather the impression they have left in my memory and emotions. I have kept the painting simple yet it is full of impact and vibrant colours.
I love experimenting with mark making, it's what makes my work truly unique & my flower paintings different from any other still life artwork! I have combined bright colours with a mixture of lines and circles, created with a range of tools and pens to create a background full of texture and interest. The painting was named 'Tall White Vase' as the vase is such a focal point in the painting, pulling together the flowers, background, colours and patterns. The bunch of flowers are in shades of yellow, blue, green, and hints of white and these have been painted using rustic brush strokes and stamps I have created myself. I have then carefully drawn around some of the flowers in order to help them to stand out against the colourful and detailed background.
This is an invigorating artwork that would light up any room in your home and give it a truly unique personality.
