Green Meadows Original Landscape Painting

This painting has been inspired by the return of spring to the countryside. Spring has got to be my favourite season, there is a change in the smell of the air, birds return that have been absent all winter and insects start to awaken from their hibernation.  It is a glorious season in the British countryside full of life, sounds and warmth.  In this artwork I have tried to keep it feeling fresh, with crisply coloured greens for the newly sprouted grass and crops in the fields.  For the growing of wild flowers in the meadows I have used a pale shade of pink.

I have used a diverse amount of mark making tools in this picture in order to give the viewer the perception of the texture there is in nature.  When you go for a walk in the countryside it isn't just what you see that invigorates you but it is also its effects on your other senses.   Recycled fabrics have been used to produce a tactile property in the artwork in order to help you to experience the effect of nature on your touch.  Scratches in the paint give the viewer the concept of grass swaying in the breeze.
