This is a heavily textured artwork full of detail and soft colours.  It is an artwork that tries to capture the viewer's imagination and the feel of the outdoors.  There is the feeling of stubble left  in the fields after harvest, and the energetic mark making in the foreground has been added in the form of sgraffito to give the impression of grasses blowing in the wind. The addition of textured fabrics in the foreground also contributes to the feel of some crops still being in the fields waiting to be harvested.  The bold mark making provides a direct contrast to the choice of using a limited palette of pastel colours which gives the artwork a softer mood.  

This painting is all about shape, pattern, and colour, and has been composed using a variety of mediums.  I have used a collage of fabric offcuts in order to create unusual textures in order to give the picture more impact  and to help you feel the wildness of the countryside and hence immerse yourselves in the feeling of being outdoors.   And lines are used in order to led Your eyes around the artwork to the rolling hills that rise on the horizon.
