A Spring Walk

Like all of my paintings this is a ‘one of a kind’ artwork that portrays the drama of the British countryside not by painting a picture that looks like a photograph but from the memories and feelings of a place.  This painting gives an energetic feel to it with the differing shades of blue, purple and pink and there is the sense rain on the way as there are low clouds hanging over the distant hills 

I have created this painting using various items of mixed media. There is texture, not just in the way I have used the paint, but also with the scratches into the paint to give the impression of grasses. There is also the addition of textured fabrics in the painting giving added drama and a 3D feel to the painting and helping you to feel what the day actually felt like. You can feel the grasses in your mind's eye, with meadows of spring flowers. Lines drawn in pen and pencil also help you to be drawn to the distant hills.

This is a beautiful painting ready to hang and ideal for bringing a sense of the outside into any room in your home.
