A Hint of Pink

Like all of my paintings this is a ‘one of a kind’ artwork that portrays the drama of the British countryside.  This painting gives a calming feel to it with the differing shades of blue, but then you have the impact of the bold touch of pink on the horizon inviting you into the picture.  A blue almost cloudless sky gives you the impression of a hot summer's day, and yet the blue tones keep the painting, and you, feeling cool.  

I have created this painting using various items of mixed media. There is texture, not just in the paint itself, with the impression of grasses scratched into the paint, but also with the addition of textured fabrics. These fabrics give you a 3D feel to the painting adding some drama to the picture and making you feel more involved in the picture. They help you to feel the grasses in your mind's eye and fields full of crops or the stubble left from a freshly ploughed field. Lines drawn in pen help you to be drawn to the distant hills.

This is a beautiful painting ideal for bringing a sense of the outside into any room in your home.
